Funds and Investments
Wigge is a leading advisor on the funds and investments market in Sweden. Our Funds and Investments team offers advice on all types of matters related to funds and alternative investments, holds courses and seminars in the field, and is well reputed in the market, as regularly confirmed by independent ranking institutions.
With a strong, reputable senior team, a deep understanding of the market and its conditions and trends as well as a genuine interest for business, we are a stable advisor and a reliable sounding board for founders, private funds, and investors alike. Our concept of small teams led by experienced partners is well proven and our goal is always to build or strengthen a long-term client relationship.
On the fund side, we assist founders and private funds (e.g. in tech, entertainment, space, real estate, buyout, feeder funds) throughout the entire fund formation process. Our expertise includes structuring, capital raising, permit applications, registrations and other regulatory issues, sustainability matters, investor negotiations, internal agreements, and option programmes. We have a good network of closely associated specialists to provide a one-stop-shop in relation to fund formations both in Sweden and in Luxembourg.
On the investor side, we assist several of Sweden’s largest financial institutions, such as insurance and pension associations, AP funds, banks, investment companies and family offices in their investments in alternative assets worldwide, primarily in the Nordic region, Luxembourg, the UK, and the US. We also have extensive experience in so-called managed accounts, co-investments, secondaries, and joint ventures.
The large number of investments we negotiate each year gives us a deep understanding of the market and its trends.
We hold regular seminars on fund conditions, regulatory issues, and current market trends, and produce a quarterly newsletter summarising the main events affecting fund market participants.
Whatever the matter, we work closely with our client to establish a strategy for the relevant transaction and identify, analyse, and manage legal risks and opportunities in a sustainable and professional manner.
Our advice includes, for example:
- Fund formation and fundraising
- Authorisation and registration processes
- Regulatory advice
- Restructuring of funds
- Fund investments
- ESG and sustainable investments
- Co-investments
- Secondaries
- Joint ventures and shareholders’ agreements
